TECHNOLOGY DESCRIPTION

Self-contained photobioreactor of small size, transportable and locatable in any type of location, constituted by an outer protective casing and internally has a plurality of cylindrical pipes that house the liquid medium with microalgae that perform photosynthesis; strips of artificial lighting under the pipes; a pump for recirculating the liquid medium of the pipes; a gaseous medium concentrator with an antibacterial filter and with gaseous medium data measurement sensors; a biomass tank of the circuit with measurement sensors, pump that expels the possible excess of liquid medium; a manual filling and emptying pump of the circuit generated by the pipes; and a photobioreactor control processor module, with means for telematically sending the data obtained in the circuit that can be managed remotely by computer applications and various electronic devices at the same time.

BENEFITS

CO2 emissions reduction in:
- in-motion vehicles inside a vehicle cargo carrier or inside the chassis
- static polluted areas such as factories, urban areas or underground parkings
Extremely reduced dimensions, low-cost, portable, lightweight and tested.
Self-regulated and monitored by IoT with sensors and WIFI-based App.
Production of microalgal biomass by cleaning the air.
NOx and SOx by using a different species of microalgae.

LIMITATIONS

Business model for the replacement of microalgae/biomass is required.

APPLICATIONS

CO2 emissions reduction in underground parkings, buildings and factories.
Automotive industry: integration into vehicles' chasis like trucks.
Production of microalgae-based biomass.

Readiness Level (TRL)

7
system prototype demonstration in operational environment(The pie chart refers to the entire portfolio contained in the database of the helpdesk)

Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) are a method of estimating technology maturity of Critical Technology Elements (CTE) of a program during the acquisition process. The use of TRLs enables consistent, uniform, discussions of technical maturity across different types of technology.
