Synthesis of Soft-Magnetic Alloy Nanoparticles

managed by Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology

TECHNOLOGY DESCRIPTION

For applications such as magnetic record/play heads, it is important that there is no residual magnetization of the head so that the magnetic field applied to/induced by the recording media will be an accurate reflection of the signal or data to be recorded/read.
The air-stable soft-magnetic nanoparticles of this technology, exhibit low coercivity and high saturation magnetization, making them well suited to applications such as magnetic heads.

BENEFITS

Stable in air
Excellent high temperature magnetic properties
Bio-compatible
Synthesis method applicable to other materials

LIMITATIONS

N.A.

APPLICATIONS

Material for magnetic heads
Magnetic hyperthermia for cancer treatment
